Our Workshops & Classes
At Long Eaton Art Room, we believe creativity should be accessible to everyone. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced artist, our workshops and classes are designed to inspire, challenge, and nurture your creative journey in a friendly and welcoming environment.
We offer a wide variety of creative workshops throughout the week, led by our talented in-house instructors and visiting artists. From painting and drawing to sculpture and digital arts, there’s something for everyone. All our workshops are structured to guide you through exciting projects and help you build new skills in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere.
We have low threshold double doors into our teaching spaces. They are large, bright and well heated rooms. We have accessible toilet facilities and a free carpark.

Fortnightly Thursdays: Coffee and Crafts
Join us for a relaxing morning of creative crafts with Lindsay & Julia. During these fortnightly sessions we will guide you through the activity, providing all the instructions & materials you need. As always we’ll be here for a coffee & a chat (maybe even a biscuit or two) while we craft away.

Weekly watercolour classes in 6 week blocks aimed at beginners, no previous knowledge required as guidance and tuition will be provided. Those who have attended previous watercolour classes with Gail are welcome to continue their journey on these workshops too.

Wednesdays: Children’s Painting Club
For young artists who love to create and express themselves. Led by Alice Kellett, a professional artist and qualified teacher, this weekly club offers small groups where children are guided step-by-step in a calm, supportive, and creative environment. Each session encourages focus, creativity, and pride in their finished artwork.

Wednesdays: Woolly Wednesdays
Join Mary Graham for Woolly Wednesdays. No need to book, just turn up and join in. Bring your current knitting, crochet or textile project and spend some time with us in a relaxed friendly atmosphere. These are not taught sessions, but the group is very knowledgeable and happy to help you get started or move along with your projects.

Fridays: Watercolours with Lynda Mayfield
Friday mornings local artist Lynda Mayfield teaches watercolour classes aimed at those with some previous watercolour experience. Lynda has a different image prepared each session and talks you through creating your own version of it step by step so that you leave with a finished artpiece to be proud of.
